Terms and conditions

The plain rules for using this site and booking a crew through it. Short, because the written estimate is where the real terms live.

Last updated: October 2026.

Safety and your own yard

Nothing on this site is a set of instructions for felling a tree, climbing one, running a stump grinder or digging near a gas line. The pages describe what a crew does so you understand the job. If you try it yourself and something goes wrong, that's on you, and we say so here plainly because people do try.

Who you're dealing with

Austin Landscaping Tech books landscaping work; independent Central Texas contractors perform it. We aren't the contractor, and the estimate or scope you accept from them is your agreement with them. We'll tell you who's coming before anything is scheduled.

Licences, permits and the HOA

Texas has no general landscaping licence. Irrigation work is done by a TCEQ Licensed Irrigator and chemical lawn treatments by a TDA-licensed applicator, and the contractor doing that work holds the licence it requires. We don't claim a licence, a bond or insurance on anyone's behalf. Tree removals over the City of Austin's thresholds, retaining walls over four feet and new irrigation systems need permits, which the contractor applies for. Where your HOA reviews exterior changes, the contractor sends the submittal before ordering anything. The city, the county, the state agencies and your HOA's documents have the final say; nothing here overrides them.

Money

Maintenance is billed monthly with no contract and stops with a week's notice. Tree work is paid when the tree is down. Projects carry a deposit stated on the estimate, with the balance due on completion or in stages on a big job. A design plan fee is paid on delivery and credited against the installation when the same contractor builds it.

Prices on this site

They're 2026 planning ranges for Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander, Dripping Springs, Kyle, Lakeway and Hutto. The number you pay is the one on the written estimate after the walk-through, which is itemized, free, and good for 30 days. An estimate isn't a contract until you say yes.

How current the information is

We keep the rules we describe, the tree ordinance, the water schedule, the wall and fence thresholds, as current as we can, but cities change them. The City of Austin, Austin Water, TCEQ, the Texas Department of Agriculture and your suburb's building office publish the versions that govern.
