Complaints policy
If a job booked through Austin Landscaping Tech didn't go right, here's exactly what we promise to do about it, who does it, and by when.

| Step | Who | By when |
|---|---|---|
| You tell us: call and say it's a complaint, or email. Give the address, the date, what was agreed, what happened, and photos if you have them. | You | Any time; a crew still on site is handled that day |
| A person acknowledges it and tells you who's handling it. | Us | Within one business day |
| Someone looks at the yard in person before anyone argues about it, if it's about the work. | Us and the contractor | Within the ten days below |
| You get a written answer: what we found, what will be done, and the date it'll be done by. | Us | Within ten business days |
| Fixes covered by the contractor's workmanship warranty or a nursery's plant warranty are arranged; ones that aren't are explained in writing. | The contractor, with us staying on it | On the date in the written answer |
| If you're still not satisfied, you go past us: the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division for any business, TCEQ for a licensed irrigator's work, the Texas Department of Agriculture for a licensed applicator's work, or your city's building office for a permitted wall or tree job. | You | Whenever you choose; nothing here limits your rights under your agreement or Texas law |
The work was done by an independent contractor under the estimate you accepted from them. We chose that contractor and booked the visit, so we take complaints about both, and a complaint about their work is put to them by us, on your behalf, until it's closed. Texas has no general landscaping licence, which is why the Attorney General's office is the route for most unresolved complaints and why we check a certificate of insurance before any crew is sent. If an insurance claim is involved, say a tree on the roof in a storm, the insurer decides coverage; the contractor documents, nobody here waives a deductible, and a complaint about the insurer goes to the Texas Department of Insurance.
We keep a record of every complaint, what was done and when, for two years, and we read those records when we decide which contractors keep getting bookings. A pattern of complaints about one contractor ends the arrangement with them.
